How to design a floor plan for a house? There is a big advantage in designing your own house. Because you think very carefully about all aspects and make the choices yourself, the final design fits seamlessly with your wishes. As soon as someone else (for example an architect) makes a design for you, this is partly based on general choices that apply to many people from the experience of the architect. That is why it is so important to choose an architect whose interpretation fits seamlessly with your wishes. The better you know what you want, the better you or an architect translate your housing requirements into a design. That is why I advise you to get started with making your living wishes and to make at least a global design yourself. You can eventually have your basic design developed by an architect as desired.
Start with a global layout
Before you get started, it is good that you clearly set your living requirements. The better you have an idea of that, the easier it will be to be able to properly realize the design of your home. Start by making a global design. Set the spaces that you want to have in your home as circles. The size of the circle corresponds to the size of the room.

Why a circle? Own house design – slide with circles
A circle is round, so an unlimited number of circles can be connected to it. Where a rectangle has ‘only’ four sides to connect another room. This allows you to think more freely in the initial phase. Even if you already have a map in mind, it is good to first globally turn your living requirements into a circular map.
Design your home from the inside out
Then you will give the spaces a concrete shape. Often these are rectangular spaces, because we are used to this and because it is easy to build. In principle, any polygon or even round shape is possible. Remember that an angle smaller than 90 degrees is often difficult with setting up and also with cleaning, larger than 90 degrees is not a problem.
Design your home from the inside by properly shaping the activities that take place there. You do this by already thinking about how you want to live, how big your dining table is, whether you want a cooking island or not. Form the spaces around the activities and furnishings, instead of thinking about it when the house is already there. At this stage, still sign by hand, only later with a drawing program. That is because drawing on rectangles on the computer is even easier than on paper. And you can often slide less well (depending on program).
